James Holmes Sentencing Verdict to Be Announced at 5pm

The jury did not get to a unanimous fatality verdict in the trial of James Holmes. He will receive life in prison lacking parole.

Fantastic work by Colorado Public Defenders Tamara Brady, Daniel King and the rest of the defense team. It was an enormous uphill battle to save his life, and they did it.

Holmes agreed to plead guilty and acknowledge a condemn of life lacking parole before trial, but Arapahoe District District Attorney George Brauchler would not shape and insisted on a far more costly fatality penalty trial.
